Holiday & Peak Season Rental Car
Guide

Traffic is often heavier than usual during holidays and peak travel seasons, and travel times to your destination may take longer than expected.
To help you enjoy your drive from start to finish, we recommend checking road conditions and routes before departure and planning your schedule with plenty of time to spare.
Check Traffic Conditions Before You Set Off

Traffic jams are common on expressways and in city areas during long weekends and peak travel seasons.
To ensure a smooth trip, build your schedule with traffic delays in mind rather than relying solely on normal travel times.
- Check traffic updates and road conditions before leaving.
- Identify peak traffic hours and look for alternative routes to avoid congestion.
- Allow extra time during the late afternoon and evening, when heading-home traffic increases.
- If you are not using an ETC card, factor in potential waiting times at toll booths.
Roads can become particularly congested on the way back from popular tourist spots to our rental location. We recommend leaving yourself enough time to return a little earlier than planned.
Set Your Return Time with Time to Spare

During peak seasons, journeys can take longer due to increased traffic and congestion.
When booking your rental car, please ensure you allow enough time not only for sightseeing and meals, but also for your return journey to our branch.
If you realize during your trip that it will be difficult to return the car by the scheduled time, please contact us as early as possible.
Important Notes Regarding Return Times:
- Vehicles cannot be used beyond your reserved rental period.
- Depending on upcoming reservations from other customers, extensions may not be accepted.
- If an extension is not possible, please adjust your plans to return the vehicle within your reserved timeframe.
- Please plan a schedule with plenty of leeway, taking potential traffic delays into account.
Especially when driving long distances or using expressways, please keep return-trip traffic conditions in mind when planning your itinerary.

Don’t Forget to Refuel Before Returning

We ask customers to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel (“Full-Tank Return”).
Long-distance driving and idling in traffic jams consume more fuel than usual.
Additionally, gas stations can be crowded during holidays and peak seasons, so we recommend refueling well in advance rather than at the very last minute.
Things to Check When Refueling:
- Monitor your fuel gauge frequently while driving.
- Refuel the vehicle completely before returning.
- Locate gas stations near our rental branch in advance.
- Factor refueling time into your return schedule.
Running out of fuel will leave your vehicle stranded. Please make sure to maintain a healthy fuel level, especially when using expressways, driving long distances, or traveling on routes where traffic jams are expected. Refuel early before it becomes a concern.
Check Vehicle Controls Before Departing

If the rental car is a different model from what you normally drive, the adjustments for seats and mirrors, as well as switches and controls, may differ.
Please check the basic operations once before setting off.
We recommend reviewing the following controls, especially if you are driving this model for the first time or haven’t driven in a while:
- Seat and mirror positions
- Turn signals, lights, and other switches
- Navigation system operation
- Air conditioning and cabin equipment
- Other basic driving controls
If you are unfamiliar with the vehicle, please take your time to complete these checks calmly before departure.

Check for Personal Belongings Before Returning

Before returning the car, please check the vehicle carefully to make sure you haven’t left anything behind.
Items most commonly forgotten include smartphones, wallets, chargers, and sunglasses.
Please check the following areas before stepping out of the vehicle:
- Around the seats
- Door pockets
- Center console area
- Trunk / Cargo area
Please do a final check before handing back the keys so you can finish your trip on a great note.
In Case of Troubles While Driving

If an accident, breakdown, or any other vehicle trouble occurs during your trip, first ensure everyone’s safety, and then contact our office immediately.
In the event of an accident, please make sure to contact us regardless of whether another party is involved.
Even if unexpected trouble occurs, remain calm, ensure safety around you, and respond calmly.
In an Emergency:
- Secure safety first (move the vehicle to a safe location if possible).
- Render first aid to any injured persons.
- Contact the police and emergency services.
- Contact the insurance company and our office.
We hope you enjoy your trip from start to finish with peace of mind. Please enjoy a safe, relaxed drive with plenty of time to spare!
