The Subaru BRZ is a sports car developed with the concept of “intuitive handling FR” in mind, featuring a compact, lightweight design, a low center of gravity, and low inertia. It features an ultra-low center of gravity with a 2L horizontally opposed 4-cylinder DOHC engine mounted low, and a traditional rear-wheel drive layout. It was jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru, with Subaru handling the main development. The Subaru BRZ is a sibling car to the 86.
To match the low center of gravity packaging, the BRZ is equipped with specially designed seats with a lower seating position. The interior is sporty, worthy of being called a “cockpit,” with features like a centrally placed meter panel and a small-diameter steering wheel.
With direct, just-right steering and an excellently balanced chassis, you feel an unparalleled sense of unity with the car. The suspension settings are slightly different from those of the Toyota 86, with the BRZ being slightly firmer.
